• Jaisalmer is a beautiful city located in the heart of exotic Thar desert.Also famous as the golden city as all the buildings are constructed with yellow stone and painting yellow. Jaisalmer is one of the major travel destinations of Rajasthan. Every year thousands of foreign and domestic tourists visit Jaisalmer to witness the exotic beauty of the golden city. The major highlight is the old havelis mansions and Sonar Killa - the golden fort or Jaisalmer Fort, located on the top of a hill, in the center of the city. The city divided into two sections, fort area and outer fort area. The fort has a population of five thousand people, rest of the people lives outside the Fort. Best time to travel Jaisalmer is October to mid March. The major tourist spots are the Sonar Fort, Havelis, Gadisagar Lake and the sand dunes.
